The EUROfusion Engineering Grant (EEG) was awarded to 16 candidates from a wide range of 55 different competence areas, interesting for development of fusion technologies. The EEG was also awarded to young researcher Aljoša Gajšek, under the mentorship of Dr. Boštjan Končar (JSI) and Dr. Marianne Richou (CEA), for research of boiling under extreme conditions, found in divertors of fusion reactors. The project includes upgrading the test section of the Thermal-hydraulics experimental laboratory for multiphase applications (THELMA) at the Reactor engineering division R4. The aim of the project is to develop a physical model to describe boiling in divertor cooling conditions.
